Why I'm Running

I am running for Los Angeles City Council to be a fighter for our community: to fight for our fair share of city services in Council District 10, to win policies that advance equity, and to create a district that respects the dignity, power, pride and participation of all its residents.

I am hopeful that the best days are ahead for the residents of Council District 10, but we must protect the gains we have made through years of community-led organizing in the city.

For the last three years,  we have experienced a political process that has left the residents of Council District 10 without elected representation and without a voice. It’s simply unacceptable. We have been told it’s okay for us to be shut out of the process, to settle and that we have to be divided for progress to occur. Yet within the diverse mosaic of Council District 10, residents have cried out for unity and for leadership that listens to our residents, brings care-first solutions to homelessness, jobs that pay a living wage, quality and consistent city services, and economic development that does not displace historically rooted Black and Brown communities.

I believe the residents of Council District 10 know we can do better than the status quo. As a community, we have the solutions. We deserve a leader who will fight with us to heal and improve our communities. I am running for Los Angeles City Council because we need a progressive champion who is willing to fight for all the residents of Council District 10. Our campaign is rooted in people power, diverse coalitions and data-driven policy. I know that when we fight, together, we win.

I would be honored to earn your vote.
